Join KUT, KUTX & the Downtown Austin Alliance for our 29th Annual Tree Lighting, Sing-Along and Stroll. Let’s ring in the holidays together. This free family-friendly event is on Congress Avenue between 9th and 11th streets. Featuring artisan vendors, food trucks, photos with Santa and more, the Holiday Stroll is the perfect way to kick off your holiday season.

Main Stage Schedule

5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Kwanzaa Tribute by KAZI
6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: KUT, KUTX Sing-Along
7:00 pm – 7:10 pm: Capitol Tree Lighting, the crowd
sings “O Christmas Tree”
7:15 pm – 9:00 pm: Tomar & the FC’s perform

Getting Here

There is street parking located around Congress Ave.
or free parking at the following garages located just a few short blocks from the event:

● Capitol Visitors Parking Garage | 1201 San Jacinto Blvd.
● State Parking Garage R | 1706 San Jacinto Blvd.

We encourage attendees to take different modes of transportation if possible:

● Capital Metro: Plan your transit trip
● Bird Scooters: Use promo code MOVABILITY in the Bird app to get your first ride free (up to $5)
● Bring your bike: Bike parking is available on-site
● Lyft: Ride with Lyft

Event street closure is set to begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, December 2 on Congress Ave. between 9th and 11th Streets. All streets are to reopen at 11:59 pm on December 2nd.

Be sure to stop by our local artisan vendors in our holiday shopping village between 9th and 10th streets on Congress Avenue to find gifts for everyone on your nice list!

On Congress Avenue between 10th and 11th streets, food vendors for all taste buds will be serving up delicious bites all night.

Peppermint Alley

Keep Austin Bright

Join us as we light up the city and officially kick off the holiday season. To help honor the 29th Annual Holiday Stroll, we are asking downtown properties, buildings, and businesses to keep their lights on for the evening of December 2nd.

Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) will be collecting donations on-site at Holiday Stroll. Be sure to stop by their tent during the event to drop off your donations!
