Summit's 76th Annual Fourth of July Celebration

Summit's Fourth of July Celebration is back for 2023!

Summit's Fourth of July is a day-long celebration marked by traditions starting with the Children's Decorated Bicycle Parade and ending with the Grand Fireworks Display.

After last year's success, the Food Truck Festival will welcome a variety of vendors and will be expanded. Evening entertainment will feature Daddy Pop on the main stage. Carnival rides and children's entertainment, bands and vendor displays will be at Soldier's Memorial Field all day long from 12:00 PM until after the fireworks at 9:00 PM! 

We hope you will join the tradition and celebrate your Fourth in Summit. Celebrate 76 years with us as we make this years celebration the biggest one Summit has ever seen! 

2023 Schedule of Festivities


  • 12:00 PM Noon - Amusement Rides and Food Truck Festival Opens
  • 12:00 PM Noon - Flag Raising Ceremony
  • 12:15 PM - Children’s Decorated Bicycle Parade
    • Ages 3-4 Line Up at Parkview Terrace and Larned Road 
    • Ages 5-7 Line Up at Watchung Place and Larned Road
    • Ages 8+ Line Up at Myrtle Ave and Larned Road
  • 1:00-2:30 PM - Area Rock Tribute Band
  • 2:30-3:30 PM - Shazam Music and Variety Show
  • 3:30-4:30 PM - Orchard Street Band in concert
  • 4:30-5:30 PM -100 Years of American Popular Music with the Raritan Valley Trombone Quartet
  • 5:30-7:00 PM - Mushmouth in concert
  • 7:30-9:00 PM - Daddy Pop in concert
  • 9:00 PM - Retire the Colors
  • 9:15 PM - Grand Fireworks Display

  • Please note: Ashland Road closes to traffic @ 6 PM.
