Best invention of all time. Had my mower for 3 months and it has performed better than expected. I have rarely had to involve myself with the lawnmower. We named him Jerry and he’s the hit of the town. People stop and take pics of this amazing little fella.I would recommend the AutoConnect option, but it is a little pricey but totally worth it (I’ll explain later). The Husqvarna dealer locally was a bit timid to get their hands on the robot as they primarily work on engines and not electronics but I stood watch as they dissected Jerry and installed the new switchboard. Probably 30 mins of updates for the new board, so order a pizza if you’re hanging out at the shop. You won’t be seeing these people too often unless you bring it back for winter storage, but that’s not an option for me living in South Florida.Jerry takes the St. Augustine grass and plows through without issue. He goes rain or shine, the only exception was during Hurricane Irma where we lost power for 5/6 days. I cannot be happier with him, I often make some black tea and hang out with Jerry as he works daily 9:30am-3:30pm. I had so many people interested in him, I felt it was only a matter of time before someone tried to steal him, and I was right. My neighbor heard the built in (super loud) alarm and stopped a “kind gentleman “ who stated he was simply putting the robot back in the yard bc he was drining in the road.... that can’t happen by the way due to the boundary wire I personally installed. This brings me back to the AutoConnect GPS feature that they offer for 430x and 450 Automowers. If someone lifts/picks-up the mower, an alarm will sound. It’s loud but if you’re not home or something what good does it do right? Good question, if the pin code you set during installation is not entered within the allotted time, the mower will disable. You can adjust the time in the settings if you have the Automower Connect feature and maybe if you tinker with the built in screen (easy to use). If the Thief makes off with your mower, you can use the Automower Connect GPS app like “Find iPhone” feature and track it back down. Not sure about you, but I’m rolling with my Mossberg 12ga and making sure Jerry comes back home with me.There are several features that disable your mower even if you don’t opt into the GPS option, but I shopped around for insurance for Jerry and I can’t find it so I would need to do a Homeowners Insurance claim if stolen or run over from bad drivers. That’s about $1k and that sucks. That’s 3x more than the Automower Connect GPS. U do the math. Later
I just want to express how much I love my 430x, it has become part of our family... We even named it Robbie.
We love when Robbie crosses through our back and front yards untiringly working. It's a common picture seeing my 3yr old son saying goodbye to Robbie and thanking him for working so hard for us while we are having dinner together.
Unfortunately today we lost Robbie... It was unexpectedly taken away from us by strangers... I regret delaying upgrading Robbie to track him... I still don't know how to explain my son that someone took our beloved family member...
Either way I want to thank you and your team for making Robbie an extraordinary helper... He supported me in spending more of my valuable time with my family.
Unfortunately it may be a while until my family is able to bring home another extraordinary helper.
I hope wherever Robbie is, he is safe. I thank you for giving us our valuable time back so we can spend it on what's more important.
This is obviously a very expensive mower and a lot of work to set it up. We purchased this mower in the spring of 2019. A few months later the mower would not work. After extensive troubleshooting it was determined that the power cord that came with the mower probably went bad. A new one was finally sent months later. Fortunately, it was almost winter when the mower stopped working so we didn't have to pay someone to mow too many times.
When the new part finally did get here the mower initially worked fine. However, now we are having issues with the mower dying in our front yard due to a dead battery instead of driving itself to the home base. We are repeatedly having to carry it back to the base and it isn't exactly lightweight. Potentially, the issue is the batter but that is a huge problem. We've only used the mower for a few months so if the battery is going out that makes the cost of using this mower even higher than it already was.
After having this mower in for a full season, and having it start with a new season with tall grass in my small 2/3rd area, it has performed amazingly in the rain and when it's dry. It's easy to blow the clippings off it as well. The vendor was kind enough to send me the XH version because the Midwest needs a higher cutting setting. I am currently looking into getting the 450XH to test for the field mowing. The only issue I have with this mower is the cutting razor blades. The Ambrogio L350i has a cutting star that is heavier and can be sharpened. These razor blades on the 350XH won't cut very well through thick tall fescue or the 'corn' sawgrass plants when they sprout randomly in the lawn. My suggestion is to grade the cutting blade. It's a little short changed. Otherwise this is a champ for yards. :) Now, if the vendor only sold the Ambrogio L350i for around $4,000 - that'd be perfect for the balance of the property.
So I purchased this product as a bundle. However, this particular product does not come with the mandatory kit that it needs. That is an extra 200 dollars. I contacted Husqvarna to ask if I could get a discount for the boundary wiring and after talking to 3 different distributors an Amazon Supervisor, and 6 hours on the phone trying to figure this out I was sent on my way with nothing but a non functioning robot. Thanks Husqvarna.
The robotic mower does a great job, there were a few bugs to work out, nothing huge. on 3rd. year of use the mower knows the yard well. I wished I had known about it years ago, its quite, totally automatic, set it and forget it. Not being a snob, but its so much better than listening to gas mowers, especially on the week ends when I'm around the house. Its been great to date!!
I bought the 430X last year and paid to have it professionally installed. Over two seasons the mower has only been functional 5 times to mow my yard due to multiple issues. The most recent event was the tracking unit quite working. I contacted Husqvarna and didn't get a reply. The mower was stolen. Both the perimeter alarm and device tracking wouldn't work due to the tracking unit not working. Husqvarna did nothing to help although I reported the problem before any of this happened. A good Samaritan found the mower wrapped up in plastic in a field and returned the mower to me and Husqvarna still refuses to help.
It works great! It is about the 6th one we have had and is much improved from the earlier models. We have a large yard and operate 2 at the same time. The lawn looks like it is freshly mowed all the time because it is. The clippings are so fine you can't see them. Love it.
In less than one year of ownership, one of the wheels has fallen off twice, and the cutting disc underneath became completely detached from the blades. You spend $1000s on this thing, and it can't keep itself together through MINIMAL use. And Husqvarna appears to go out of their way to make sure you don't get to use a warranty claim, meaning your initial investment isn't even the last of your spending on this thing. Whatever you do, buy another company's product - it's likely less expensive, higher quality, and better customer service.
