I recently used the Nu-Calgon Evap Foam No-Rinse Evaporator Coil Cleaner to clean my evaporator coil, and I was overall impressed with the product. Here's what I liked:
Convenient and Easy to Use: The no-rinse formula is a major plus. I simply turned off the unit, sprayed the foam according to the instructions, and let it work its magic. No need for extensive prep work or messy cleanup, just a quick and convenient process.
Effective Cleaning: The foam visibly dissolved dirt, grime, and dust on the coil. After letting it sit for the recommended time, I could see a noticeable difference in the coil's cleanliness. My unit seems to be running more efficiently since the cleaning.
Pleasant Scent: While I did choose to follow up with a light rinse using a spray bottle, I appreciate that the product has a mild lemon scent. This is preferable to the harsh chemical odors often associated with cleaners.

Evap Foam No Rinse
Evap Foam 'no rinse' is a high performance, heavy duty detergent, specifically formulated with special surfactants and alkaline cleaners that have been developed into a foaming, no-rinse product. The aerosol product can be sprayed either right side up or upside down, and is ideal for use on most coils, but particularly suited for cooling or evaporator coils.
Evap Foam will liquefy dirt, grease, oil, and other residues quickly and easily. Since it is fortified with corrosion inhibitors, it is safe for use on metals and other materials. The product’s fast-breaking foam is completely self-rinsing. Simply spray Evap Foam on the coil and the foam will wash the emulsified matter off. The aerosol product is NSF registered for use as a coil cleaner in and around food processing areas, and helps leave the area deodorized with a pleasant lemon scent.

Effective Product: Nu-Calgon 4171-75 Evap Foam No Rinse Evaporator Coil Cleaner, 18 oz.
Able DIY homeowner that is from the “I can fix that generation” 😃 On a scale of 1 -10 this is a relatively easy albeit dirty job and rate it 3 out of 10. Read and followed directions and safety precautions listed on the can of the cleaner. Researched HVAC related videos and articles concerning the cleaning of evaporator coils and followed the safety guidelines. Used two full cans of cleaner on my indoor evaporator coils that were dirty and draining inefficiently. Sprayed, waited and brushed with a coil brush three times on the inside and outside of the evaporator coils. Flushed coils and condensation tray with warm water by poking a hole in the cap of a 16 oz water bottle. Look at the photos that accompany this review and see that the Nu-Calgon 4171-75 Evap Foam No Rinse Evaporator Coil Cleaner, 18 oz. is an effective product. Removed disgusting gelatinous residue and dirt from both the coils and pan with a minimum of brushing and rinsing. Probably could just spray on and allow condensation to remove the cleaner and residue but opted to brush and rinse. Cost effective DIY maintenance project that was about $40 in total for one brush and two cans of Nu-Calgon 4171-75 Evap Foam No Rinse Evaporator Coil Cleaner, 18 oz.

I still wanted to clean the coils since I already had the covers off. The spray was easy to use and the can works well at an angle.
I allowed the foam to work for about 15 minutes and just about all of the debris dripped away.
Even though this is a "no rinse" cleaner, I still used a water bottle sprayer filled with distilled water to rinse off the coils.
Be sure to wear gloves, protective eye wear and a mask. This might have a very pleasant scent, but you still shouldn't be breathing it in.
If you have a Bryant furnace, the outer cover is held in place by four 5/16" screws. They might be hidden under some caulk / sealant that you have to scrape off. The inner "A" shaped coil covers are also held in place by 5/16" screws.
Don't forget to turn off the A/C system, unplug the furnace and/or turn off the circuit breaker before you open up the unit.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. I could have just used half of the can, but I used the entire can just to make sure every inch of the "N" coil was sparkling clean.
I don't think I'll need to do this procedure again for at least a few years since our A/C filters are ceiling mounted and I change the two filters every month.
